Communication’s Report: Need about 43 more student registrations turned in.
Vice President’s Report: No report.
Treasurer’s Report: Checking account - $14,767.07
Hospitality Report: Friday Night, August 12 – Exhibition Night: Dinner will be served at 6:30pm. Need volunteers to meet by 5:30pm to help set up. Tonya will send out an email. Band Dads will grill.
Need to recruit two volunteers for football games. If possible, would like to recruit freshmen parents to learn the ropes of running chuck wagon.
It was voiced that chuck wagon cooks along with other parent volunteers should get into the festival that they are working free of charge.
Uniform’s Report: 80% of the band has been fitted. Waiting on ten uniforms, which will not be here in time for the first game. The uniforms will be here in time for Webb City.
Prefer that NO colored drinks be served to students during football games to avoid stains on uniforms. Thoughts are to serve water only.
Students need to clean up after eating breakfast around the uniform storage area. There are signs of mouse activity.
Need to decide if ALL ladies will need black dresses for concert band season or only members of the Symphonic Band.
Fundraising Report: We raised $1934 through the fireworks stand.
The trash bag fundraiser has begun. Forms are available online to download. Forms and money are due September 1st. $3.70 per roll will go to student’s account. We do not want to turn people away from using trash bag sales to help pay band fees. However, would like to emphasize the importance of building the student’s account for the upcoming band trip.
Father/Daughter Dance – More information to come.
Performance at MMEA – looking for fundraising opportunities the booster’s can do to raise money to help with the costs of this trip.
Band Dads’ Report: No Report
New Business: Tonya proposed new directors budget of $7000: Music $2000, Repairs $1400, Judges/Clinicians $2000, Drumline $1600. This would leave $3727 in account.
There was a discussion about charging students who use school instruments a rental or maintenance fee.
Upon motion by Missy Wilson and seconded by Jennifer Scrivener, the motion was passed to have Mr. Wilson readdress the director’s budget at the September Board Meeting.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:09pm.
